Overview

The Macan S has a 340-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6, all-wheel drive, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. While the base Macan makes do with a 252-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, the GTS ups the ante to 360 hp with the same 3.0-liter six, and the range-topping Turbo delivers 400 hp from a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6.

Accelerating from zero to 60 mph is achieved in 5.1 seconds and road grip for an SUV comes with a very impressive 0.91 g of lateral acceleration. The Macan S defied our expectations – this squat hatchback shouldn’t be this fun to drive, but it is! Agile and capable, it eagerly attacks corners and effortlessly overtakes slower traffic.

This particular Macan is outfitted with a complete carbon fiber package including interior door trim, dash, and exterior door blades. It also has the Premium Package Plus which includes: cornering lights, speed-dependent headlight range control, front and rear heated sport seats, front seat ventilation, automatically dimming interior and side mirrors, proximity entry system, electrically operated panoramic roof, and power front seats with 18-way power adjustments and larger side bolsters. Performance winter tires are currently fitted and have about 8,500 miles on them.

History & Maintenance

This is a three-owner vehicle with recent service records from Berg Performance and Prestige Porsche of Lakewood. The last maintenance records are from 1/8/2024 indicating the water pump and V belt were replaced along with a four-wheel alignment. Other notable records include changing the oil at 48K miles, replacing the front brakes, and radiator shutters and shutter motor. The 40K mile service was performed at the Porsche dealer including; engine oil, filter, PDK transmission flush and replacement of the cabin air filter. Heritage

While the Macan is a relatively new model in Porsche's lineup, its heritage can be traced back to the Porsche 959, the company's first four wheel drive vehicle. They adapted a road going car for off-road use and it went on to win the grueling Paris to Dakar rally in 1986.

Interior                  A

The interior of the Macan presents very well. It’s clean and free of almost any defects. The vehicle is outfitted with all-weather mats and all of the buttons, gauges, work as intended.

Exterior                 A

The Macan’s exterior presents well with very minor blemishes in the clear protective film (PPF) and no visible paint blemishes which is consistent with a vehicle that has been well cared for. The paint is bright and vibrant and shows the sleek lines of the Macan..

Mechanical           A

This Macani S runs and drives as it should. The engine pulls hard and the transmission shifts smoothly. There are no discernable squeaks or rattles, nor any mechanical sounds to worry about. A replacement water pump and V belt were installed along with an alignment in January of 2024.

Photographer's Notes

My time spent with the car seemed to come to an end quickly. I in fact grew fairly attached to it and could definitely see myself driving one on the regular. Perhaps someday! Porsche just knows how to make great cars. The silver paint catches light nicely and I love how the carbon fiber trim pieces both inside and out enhance the look of the car. Sport mode makes zipping around quite enjoyable with the added fidget factor of the paddle shifts and the car really pulls nicely and stops on a dime. The Macan S is the definition of what a daily driver should be. Comfy enough for longer trips, roomy enough for last-minute grocery trips, and quick enough to pass or get off the line when you really need to get somewhere.
