Vehicle Overview
The Viper was initially conceived in late 1988 at Chrysler's Advanced Design Studios. The following February, then president Bob Lutz suggested the company should consider producing a modern day Cobra. Lamborghini, was brought in to cast a prototype aluminum block for the sports car and by 1992 the first RT/10's hit the road. This particular example is a fourth generation ZB II (produced from 2008-2010). The engine was developed with assistance from McLaren Automotive, adding variable valve timing and better flowing heads. Other notable changes for the ZB II included a ViscoLok speed-sensing limited-slip differential and a completely new VENOM engine management system.
